ABOUT

Eli Kahn is a guitarist, producer, & improviser from South Bend, IN, now living in Asheville, NC. After graduating from Indiana University of South Bend in 2010 with degrees in both classical guitar performance & music theory, he transitioned into jazz/fusion & improvisatory music & discovered his love for production.

Performing for over a decade with his original projects such as sobriquet., The B.E.A.T., & After Ours has helped him hone his craft with layers & composition.

Through the use of looping, effects, & a 7-string hybrid guitar, he is able to paint landscapes of grooving bass lines & melodic guitar parts that work together seamlessly to create a unique blend & sound.

CURATION / INSTALLATION

Starting in 2014, collaborative opportunities with various visual & movement artists through a residency at the South Bend Museum of Art pushed his work in a new direction.

This type of multi-disciplinary work eventually lead to an annual residency that lasted until 2020, as well as a permanent collaborative outdoor piece at Pier Park that opened in 2021 & his own solo museum show in April 2022.
