HOW ARE YOU? NO, REALLY . . . HOW ARE YOU?

This installation is a fully-immersive presentation of my album “How Are You? No, Really…How Are You?”, which I wrote & recorded at home over the spring/summer of 2020 & released in May of 2021.

I created the album as a direct response to the fear & stress I was feeling during both the height of the pandemic & during a time where numerous videos of police brutality & civil unrest were surfacing online. I felt compelled to make music that would reduce my sense of hyper-vigilance upon both creating & listening to it. I was making these tracks for myself to relax & unwind, eventually releasing them out to the world.

I had been connected with my brilliant mixing engineer, Eric Friedlander (Tower 21 - Los Angeles, CA), who took these pieces & brought them to new life using spatial mixing software, allowing the music to move around the viewer as part of a fully dynamic experience.
